ASLEF trade union backs Diane for Labour Leader

ASLEF, the UK union for train drivers and operators, have backed Diane for Labour Leader.
They announced their backing in a statement today:
“Having heard from all five of Labour’s leadership hopefuls the ASLEF Executive Committee today (15th July) endorsed the candidature of Diane Abbott as next Labour leader.
General Secretary Keith Norman said ‘ASLEF supports Diane for leader as the candidate committed to a publicly run, publicly owned railway. We’ll be advising all members to give her their first preference vote in the leadership contest.’
